This ident tells you that its a fun channel this also tells you what channel it is and what primary colour they use. This ident last about 23 seconds i would say its a very fast ident not normal tempo i would say they done it quick so they could put loads of tv programs in there. This is a entertainment-led because it involves many activities such as football,cooking and many more.
This gives the impression that its more of a boys channel because theres not a lot of girl activities it also gives the impression thats its a very fast tempo channel.
This ident tells us that it appeals to 2-4 years olds.The information tells you that what channel you are on thats about all the information becasuse it isnt a deatailed ident because its for small children. I would say its a very fast tempo i think they did this because to make the children interested. It is deffently targeted to small children. This appeals to them because its simple bright colours and fun for them. I think this is entertainment-led because there is no information in the ident apart from what channel it is. The impression it gives me is that its a very simple ident with bright colours.
This gives a liitle more information from the last one because it tells you the channel and it allso shows you simple shapes so the children could learn them when watching the ident. Its a very short ident it only last 11 seconds which is quite short for an ident. I would say its quite a slow tempoed ident not a lot changes in the ident apart from the name of the chennel i think they done this so the kids could see the shapes for longer and try to name them. The target audience is deffiently small children i would say this because the way the ident style is and how it shows you the shapes with the bright colours so they fixed on the channel. I think this is information-led more then entertainment because it doesnt have a fast tempo or many different scences and beacuse its mostly on the shapes i would say its for the children to learn them. The impression this ident gives me is that its for small kids but i dont think the would be interested because its not very entertaining.
This tells you some information about the chennel its a fun and entertaining channel i think this would be to older children 7-9. This last 13 seconds i think any longer and the kids would lose interest. I think this a normal tempo. I think it is appealing to more of the boys side becuase it doesnt use a lot of boys colours and you get the fill of a boys chennel i think it is more entertaiment-led becaiuse it isnt showing you any information just green things moltiplying jumping to show cbbc. The impression is that it is a boys channel with a lot of movment.
This ident shows you what programs are on the cbbc chennel but usees them to show what channel the kids are on this last for 22 seconds i think it is this long because they are showing what programs are on the channel the tempo is quite fast tempo to put as many programs as they can into a permitted time. I think this appeals to both boys and girls because it shows girls and boys programs i think it is more entertament-led then information because its showing all the programs you can its kind of trying to draw you in to watch the channel.
The idents have in common are they all use there primary coulor and they all ways have there own masscot. I think i need to include my ident will be entertaiment-led to make people watch it. Some of them are different because there for different age group of kids it has to be different because little children are interested into football or action yet. I would expect the ident to be shown when the kids get in from school or in the morning before they go school. Some times the ident will be relevant to the program that will be starting next

Task 3 Understanding the design of a suite of television idents
A suit of ident is a channel on television but they have made different types of ident for different people and times
BBC
For example this is one of the BBC idents but they have done it in christmas style. They would play this getting near to christmas time. I think is appealing to kids more then adults because it is in a cartoon form. I think this would be played in the morning and the afternoon because i think it is made for children so if it was played at night the children will be asleep. The time of year would be when it reaches Christmas time. The message of this ident is i think to wish the viewers happy christmas. The similarities in these idents are they have the BBC logo and the signature circle
This ident theme is house wives cutting the grass in heels and make up i think this is a appealing to more adults or older woman because i don't think children and men would be interested in this ident because its not appealing to male figures. Time of day i would say mid day afternoon time of year i would say summer because it is bright. This ident only plays for 11 seconds which means if something went wrong onBBC they wouldn't play this ident because its not long enough
This idents theme is surfing but with loads of copy of the man so you get the full affect i think this will be very appealing to male figures and kids because its looks interesting to kids and it would also interesting to surfers time of day i would say morning or afternoon i think any type of year apart from winter because people wouldn't have the idea of surfing. It is a very bright colour very clear and opening. I think the time of year would be summer because a lot would be out swimming and this would give people an idea to surf.
The things these all have in common is the circle in each ident which represents BBC which is very clear all so they all put BBC one in the middle of ident so its clear what channel it is.

Task 2 – Understanding the limitations of the television ident
The limitations of limitation of ident
Programs need to know the limitations of them ident that they can use. This includes the colour,size and font. TV channels can not use a random colour because this may be all ready used in another TV program

For example BBC colour is red and no other program uses that colour
Another example is channel 4 uses purple and no other channel uses it.
Aspect- ratio
The ident can not be too big and it cant be too small because if it is to big it would miss most of the ident because it will be off the screen if it was to small you might not be able to see the information on the screen and you would have black boxes around it wouldn't look good because it would look unprofessional.
Adhering to a desired tone.
An example of this is BBC FOUR where they mostly show documenters. This ident has helped set the tone of the channel which is one of the benefits
The limitations are not all ways a down side it some times could be a positive
Colour, Colour can be a positive because no other company channel can use that colour
Size is a positive because it will always be the same size because if it got bigger it would cut the ident and if it got smaller you would have black around the ident
Duration some ident get made lasting 1 or 2 minutes because if they was a problem with a tv program they could play the ident for that long until the fix the problem.

The ident first appeared in 1953 on BBC as a commercial television began to expand and viewers need to be able to identify different channels
The first ident was BBC and was called (batwings)
In 1960 the first BBC tv logo within a circle was introduced
This is the famous ident this was called the globe which would rotate and voice would announce this is BBC
idents plays an important role this is the break to show other programs to tell them what channel will be on next and later on in the night.This will help to keep the viewers interested to carry on watching.
Creating the right tone and appeal to the target audience
It is important to create the right tone for the channel it is on and is appealing to the target audience.When BBC four arrived it gave a reputation of a more factual and information programming So the idents started to reflect this.
Creating a brand and encouraging brand loyalty
An ident helps to endorse a brand of a particular channel by allowing the ident become familiar with the logo and the style of channel.It is a particular reminder of a particular channel and and imprints the brand int the mind of the audience.This encourages the loyalty of the particular channel.
Creating corporate identity
TV programs are no longer restricted to one country this helps the ident to have more of a range to different locations. With the growth of online plat forms such as bbciplayer it is vital for the corporations to retain the image which could be so easily diluted
